Malaysia finished their determined Thomas Cup 2020 campaign in the last eight stage after going down 0-3 to traditional rivals, Indonesia at the Ceres Arena, Aarhus.
First singles and team captain, Lee Zii Jia fell to a 15-21 17-21 world No. 5 Anthony Ginting. The win means Ginting holds a win record of four out of five meeting over the world No. 8.
World No. 1 Marcus Fernaldi-Kevin Sukamuljo exacted revenge on Tokyo Olympics bronze medallists Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik 21-17 16-21 21-15.
In the penultimate second singles tie, young gun Ng Tze Yong showed no fear against world No. 7 Jonatan Christie before going down fighting 21-14 19-21 16-21 in 75 minutes.
The final result meant Malaysia repeated 2018's quarter-final finish in Bangkok.
