Malaysia advanced to the quarter-finals after defeating Finland 4–1 in Horsens today.
Leong Jun Hao opened the tie but went down to Finland’s Joakim Oldorff (17-21, 15-21).
Justin Hoh then levelled the score with a straight-games victory over Kalle Koljonen (21-14, 21-12), earning Malaysia’s first point.
Lee Zii Jia followed up with another win, overcoming Ananda Galvani Daniswara (21-19, 21-10) to put Malaysia ahead.
In the doubles, Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani extended Malaysia’s lead with a solid performance against Eeliel Melleri and Nillio Nyqvist (21-12, 21-15).
Soh Wooi Yik and Tee Kai Wun sealed the tie with a convincing straight-games win over Ananda Galvani Daniswara and Alvar Melleri (21-7, 21-14).
