Malaysia secured a 5-0 win over South Africa to advance to the quarter-finals, marking their return to the last eight after 16 years.

Letshanaa Karupathevan set the tone with a comfortable win over Johanita Scholtz (21-6, 21-10).

Wong Ling Ching bounced back from her previous defeat with a commanding victory against Chloe Lai (21-8, 21-4).

Siti Zulaikha Azmi continued Malaysia’s strong showing, overcoming Elme de Villiers (21-11, 21-5).

Ong Xin Yee and Carmen Ting added another point with a straight-games win over Amy Ackerman and Johanita Scholtz (21-16, 21-14).

Chong Jie Yu and Low Zi Yu wrapped up the tie with a quick victory against Elme de Villiers and Anri Schoonees (21-12, 21-5).

Malaysia will face Japan in the final Group B tie to determine the group winner.
