Facing 16-time winners and defending champions China, K. Letshanaa put up a competitive performance against world No. 2 Wang Zhi Yi before going down in straight games (17-21, 18-21).
In the doubles, Ong Xin Yee and Carmen Ting took on world No. 1 pair Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning, but fell in three games (14-21, 21-16, 13-21) in a 79-minute contest.
The tie was decided in the following match, with Wong Ling Ching losing to world No. 4 Chen Yu Fei (10-21, 10-21).
